What do you
LOVE
about yourself?

A project in honor of but not limited to Black History Month.
I  asked one simple question: "What do you love about yourself?" My hopes are that every participant consciously acknowledged their brilliance (even if just for a moment) and that every viewer notices the diversity and excellence that is a "black person."

TASH

"I  love my commitment to my truth...since I've realized I could have an opinion, I've been really passionate about it...I love my body in general - it's the closest thing to me, and I also really love the way it looks...I love my duality, I come off really intimidating but anyone who knows me knows I'm the most tender, soft, mushy, sensative human that I know.

JOSH

"I  love that I like to explore...everything, I explore the possibilities in mind, the world, people...I really like how my body is shaped in general...I always think about it...like God I kinda look like an action figure...I can't believe I said that...this is why I don't talk about myself.

- Joshua Stevens

KRYSTINA

"I  love my compassion... mores than what I look like, I'd rather be known for my heart and for caring about others than... I love my clavicle...it's my clavicle going into my left shoulder...if not the clavicle, then probably my smile cuz that thing is joyful!..I like that my face is symmetrical and that's kinda cool.

- Krystina Arielle Tigner

ALLÁNTE

"I  love my energy...I can go anywhere and we blend and we vibe, and it has the power to uplift...hmmm my feet, I love my feet...they keep me going...without my feet, daily tasks would be a lot harder so I'm grateful for my feet...I love my organs...if we didn't have intestines, how would we get vitamins to the rest of our organs?"

EMMOLEI

"I  love to hear that people feel my energy, I love being around me, I love me... idk I think it's important to love yourself and love  every piece of myself...I love who I am...I love who I've become... I love the mistakes that made me, me today...man, I really love my hair man...although, if I were to cut off my hair I would still love me...I love my imagination...like, how do you move through life if you don't have an imagination?"

RANDY

"I  love my ability to stay grounded with my mindset and mental state, I pride myself in being able to carry the highs when the lows come... I love my hair, I can grow it out I can keep it short...I love that I'm constantly pursuing new things, having that hunger for more really excites me and keeps me waking up everyday!"

PATIENCE

"I  love my lips...they are full, they are dark, they are beautiful and I really believe that...even my complexion, I love that about myself...I love my heart, I think I have the biggest heart, I feel for people so deeply, I love people so deeply...I love how imaginative I am, it doesn't keep me so stern and to the point."

DahT.soul

"I  used to not love a lot about myself...I love my resilience and my will not to quit...I love people, we bleed the same so I got nothing  but love...God called me to love...I've learned to love myself in that state and now that my body is changing I'm learning to love this"

BRITTNEY

"I  love my personality because it's unique, it's different, it's bubbly...all together it's a little bit much but it's me...I love my clavicle bone- I've always loved that about myself... I love my perseverance... I've been through life and I'm triumphing."

SNOW

"I  love everything... I love my hair..I love my complexion...I love my sense of humor...because that's been my having grace for any entire life...I believe I'm a very strong person, I love that about my self... I love the spiritual journey I'm on...I love thatI'm very creative...I love that I'm tall...but I hate when people ask me if I play basketball.
